OFFICIATING FHSAA VOLLEYBALL

Physical Demands
Very light physical demands. As the players’ ages and skill levels increase, the speed of competition becomes more challenging. Your concentration level and ability to anticipate must increase as well.

Initial Training:
Expect lectures, demonstration and exercises on the basic rules at local association meetings.

Equipment Needs:

• White short-sleeved polo shirt with smaller FHSAA insignia
• Black slacks
• Black belt (if belt worn)
• Solid black shoes
• Black socks
• Also: whistle, set of yellow and red cards, coin, lineup “card”, pen/pencil, net measuring chain, ball guage
• Estimated cost: $200 if you have shoes. Sometimes, veteran referees have "hand—me—downs" that help new referees get started.
